Global creative leader with experience on driving award-winning work for the world’s largest brands and new business.

I was fortunate to be part of some of the world's most awarded agencies during their most creative moments.

I began my journey at Publicis in Brazil in 2004, where our global CCO was David Droga, and he wanted to see great ideas. As a junior creative, I had the luck to create the first Procter & Gamble Gold Lion ever. The agency also claimed the top spot in the Publicis network that year at Cannes Lions.

Later, I joined DM9DDB, a powerhouse that had already won Cannes Lions Agency of The Year in Cannes twice. I was hired by CEO Sergio Valente on the exact day DM9 won its third title, during the party that celebrated Cannes Lions Cyber Agency of The Year at Le Baoli. In 2009, we won the Cannes Lions Agency of The Year again, marking DM9’s fourth title. It was a great ride, from 2005 to 2010, alongside the finest of Brazilian ad folks.

Then, I went to the USA to work at Pereira O'Dell in San Francisco as a Creative Director. The agency had momentum, winning 3 Grand Prix at Cannes and an Emmy. It held A-List status in Advertising Age. Luckily, I had the chance to sit two desks away from PJ Pereira and learn directly from the source. We won many new businesses, pencils and Cannes Lions, including a Brand Content Gold Lion with Snoop Dogg Smokable Book, which ended up at Harvard Library.

Afterward, I returned to Brazil to work during the booming economic period with the FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games approaching. I joined the Africa agency as a Creative Director, a giant production machine with big World Cup campaigns coming out every week. While the agency initially focused on Brazil, it later expanded into international work. At Africa, I served as a judge at Cannes Lions on the Brand Content & Entertainment category. We also became the International Agency of The Year in Advertising Age in 2014.

Then, I received an irresistible invitation to be Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy Brazil. The agency had just been named Agency of The Year in Cannes, earning a Titanium Grand Prix. Everyone wanted to work there. Anselmo Ramos left to open David in Miami and hired me to take his seat. With his help and Gastón Bigio’s, our then Regional CCO, we kept the bar of the work high, winning several D&AD and One Show pencils, many Cannes Lions, and becoming Agency of The Year in Cannes Lions in the Promo track.

Afterward, I received a call to come back to DM9, this time as the Chief Creative Officer. The task was to push the envelope on The Work. My team won 22 Cannes Lions in three years, including the only Integrated Cannes Lions in Latin America, for Walmart, which made me receive an email from John Wren.

Later, I accepted an invitation that changed my life 180 degrees becoming Chief Creative Officer at three BBDO agencies in China – BBDO Shanghai, Energy BBDO, and BBDO Live. I came to China looking for scale and technology but found so much more. We won a lot of big accounts, we launched Volkswagen electric cars, which was the biggest car campaign in the country ever, we grew the agency during the pandemic. It was epic. I was nominated Creative Person of The Year in China and led global and regional campaigns for major clients as Alibaba, Pepsi and Lotus.

At the beginning of 2024, I moved to Dubai, where, along with my partner Faysal Abdul Malak, we run VML in the United Arab Emirates.

That’s my career in a nutshell.

In my free time, I'm trying to keep up as an amateur triathlete and a musician below the amateur level.
